Investigation: Attempted Homicide

Attempted Homicide Release

Beaumont, CA - On June 8, 2021, at approximately 1:17 a.m., the Beaumont Police Department began receiving several 911 calls reporting gunshots heard in the area of Beaumont Avenue and Cougar Way. Officers arrived and immediately located a vehicle on Beaumont Avenue with an adult male slumped over inside suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Officers began performing lifesaving measures and the male was subsequently transferred by ambulance to an area hospital in critical condition. 

During the initial investigation there were reports a possible second victim and/or suspect was in the parking area behind the Stater Bros. Market located along Beaumont Avenue and Oak Valley Parkway. Officers requested the assistance of Banning Police Department and the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Aviation Unit. Officers were unable to locate a suspect or any additional victims.
