The Administration Division consists of the Chief of Police, Division Commanders, a Support Services Supervisor and a Police Services Analyst.

The chief and his staff coordinate the activities of all divisions within the Police Department. His office is responsible for providing overall leadership, planning, staff assistance, control, and management for the department.

It is also responsible for maintaining relationships with other city departments and citizens, as well as various community and civic groups for the mutual goal of public safety.

As the Chief of Police, I have the distinct privilege to represent the members of the department. We are a full service police department and pride ourselves on delivering the highest quality of public safety services that our residents and business community deserve and expect.

The Beaumont Police Department strives to deliver that “small town” feeling of knowing your police officers while providing progressive and professional police service to the community. You are just as likely to find us at a community event as you are to find us using cutting edge technology to solve a crime. We are dedicated to engaging our community at all levels and maintaining the trust given to us by you.

The Beaumont Police Department provides for the public safety response needs of the community through services that support the Department's commitment to Community Oriented Policing and Problem Solving (COPPS). Through these efforts, the Police Department strives to meet the community's needs for the protection of life and property and enhance the quality of life for our citizens.

Anthony Yoakum, Deputy Chief

Deputy Chief's Message

Deputy Chief Anthony “Tony” Yoakum has been a police officer for 32 years.  He was hired by the City of Upland in 1988.  During his time with Upland he worked a variety of assignments including; Patrol, SWAT, Gangs, Detective, Supervisor, and different managerial assignments, culminating with the last three years of his time there as a Captain.

In November 2017, Deputy Chief Yoakum was hired by the Cathedral City Police Department and worked there for over two and a half years.  The last 10 months there as their Acting Chief of Police.

He is a graduate from California’s Commission on Peace Officers Standards and Training, Command College Class 54.  He holds a master’s degree and bachelor’s degree.  He has received numerous awards and commendations throughout his career.

He joined the Beaumont Police Department in February 2020 and is honored to now be a part of the Police Department and the Beaumont community.
