Beaumont, CA – On Thursday, November 19, 2020, at approximately 12:08pm, the Beaumont Police Department received a call from a driver who believed he was being pulled over by someone impersonating an officer.
The driver told dispatchers he was driving Southbound on Palm Avenue when someone in an unmarked white colored Mitsubishi with red and blue flashing lights was attempting to stop him. Officers responded to the location and found the driver and the suspicious vehicle pulled over near a business in the area of 6th Street and Beaumont Avenue.
Officers detained Karim Harim Abdul, age 38, of Beaumont. Further investigation determined Abdul is currently on parole for assault on a police officer and Abdul was driving the Mitisubishi outfitted with a police light bar. Officers arrested Abdul for impersonating a police officer and he was booked at Smith Correctional Facility in Banning.
