Beaumont, CA – On Wednesday, June 12, 2019, a Beaumont Police Officer was proactively patrolling the area of 2nd Street Marketplace when he located a vehicle and driver that matched the description of a wanted subject. The subject was involved in several indecent exposure cases in the Cities of Beaumont and Banning spanning a six-month period. The officer conducted an investigative stop and detained Silas Matthew Brown, age 24, of Banning. Brown and his vehicle were positively identified by one victim as the suspect in a case of indecent exposure from March 18, 2019.
Additional victims from previous cases reported that a Black male adult driving a silver or red vehicle approached them, asked for directions and exposed himself while seated in his vehicle.
Brown is currently a Sex Registrant for a past sexual battery charge and was on probation during the March 18, 2019 incident. Brown was arrested for indecent exposure, violation of probation, and was booked at Smith Correctional Facility in Banning.
