Beaumont, CA – On March 19, 2019, Miguel Lazo, age 60, of the City of Beaumont, was arrested by the El Monte Police Department, on a felony arrest warrant for lewd and lascivious acts with a minor under 14 years of age.
The arrest comes after a thorough investigation that began in 2018. At that time the Beaumont Police Department responded to a local hospital emergency room to investigate a report that a female juvenile had been sexually assaulted by a family member. It was determined that the alleged assault occurred in a family member’s residence in the City of Beaumont.
Detectives later identified the suspect as Miguel Yvan Lazo, a teacher with the El Monte Union High School District. The case was submitted to the Riverside County District Attorney’s office for review, the arrest warrant was issued and served today by the El Monte Police Department.
The El Monte Police Department assisted the Beaumont Police Department, with the arrest of Lazo at his place of employment, in the 3000 block of Tyler Avenue, in the City of El Monte today. His arrest and this investigation does not involve any allegations related to his employment with the El Monte Union High School District.
