Beaumont, CA – On Tuesday, December 17, 2019, while on routine patrol, a Beaumont Police Officer observed the driver of a white Chevrolet truck weaving through lanes of traffic while exceeding the speed limit. The officer initiated a traffic enforcement stop in the area of 1st Street and Beaumont Avenue, however the driver fled from the officer as he was approaching the vehicle.
The officer pursued the suspect through surface streets to the Westbound I-10 Oak Valley Parkway on-ramp, where the pursuit continued until Singleton Avenue in Calimesa. Just prior to the Singleton off-ramp, the driver pulled into the center divider and attempted to flee officers on foot across the Eastbound lanes of the I-10, however; officers were able quickly detain him.
Further investigation determined the driver, Daltyn Robert McCall, age 23, of Yucaipa was driving an unreported stolen vehicle out of Arizona. No injuries were reported and McCall was booked at Smith Correctional Facility in Banning for evading an officer, resisting arrest, possession of stolen property and possession of cocaine.
