Did you know that the United States Postal Service is now offering “Informed Delivery,” Those eligible can enroll to receive daily email messages containing scanned images of the letters to be delivered each day. This is a free service and a great way to check to see what items may be waiting for you in your mailbox. Enrollment takes about 5 minutes and most zip codes and addresses are eligible for the service.

While “Informed Delivery” won’t prevent mail theft, it is a great way to keep track of your mail. But, don’t forget to prevent mail theft by:
Checking your mailbox daily;
Dropping outgoing mail directly at the post office or give to your postal carrier;
Immediately notify the USPS if you change your address;
Request a vacation hold through your post office or online at holdmail.usps.com/holdmail and;
Reporting suspicious behavior near mailboxes or in your neighborhood.
