Beaumont, CA – On March 9, 2021, at approximately 4:19am, the Beaumont Police Department received a 911 call reporting a structure fire in the 1200 block of Antonell Court. Officers arrived and found a detached garage fully engulfed with flames. CalFire responded and was able to contain and extinguish the fire, but located evidence suggesting the fire was caused by an illegal Butane Honey Oil lab.
Initially officers were unable to locate the residents or any injured persons on scene, but later learned that an adult male, age 50, was independently transported to a local hospital with major burns. The Multiple Enforcement Team (MET) was contacted and assumed the investigation. MET officers served a search warrant and collected evidence from the lab. The City of Beaumont, Building and Safety Department also responded and deemed the property uninhabitable due to the damage caused by the fire. The injured male, who was determined to also be the property owner is pending charges for felony manufacturing of a controlled substance.
