Last night members of the Beaumont Police Department Detective Bureau were recognized at the 40th Annual LEAC Awards Ceremony with the Investigative Excellence Award.
This esteemed award recognized the extraordinary investigative efforts of Sgt. Galletta, Cpl. Wells, Det. Ford and Det. Steward for the investigation of the homicide of Jasmine Zuniga on March 4, 2017.
***On March 4, 2017, at approximately 10:26p.m., Beaumont Police Department received a 911 call regarding shots fired in the 500 block of Chestnut. Patrol officers responded to the area, and within minutes located a vehicle in the 500 block of Michigan. Officers located an unresponsive female suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital where 21 year old, Jasmine Zuniga, succumbed to her injuries.
On March 23, 2017, Beaumont Police Department Detectives and assisting agencies served a series of search warrants resulting in the arrest of four suspects believed to be responsible for Jasmine Zuniga’s homicide. Those suspects are currently awaiting trial.
