What do I do if online incident reporting is not right for me?
Online reporting should be used for documentation purposes only. If your incident is an emergency, you should call 911. If you are reporting a crime and need to speak to an officer or want an officer to follow up with you, please contact our non-emergency call 951-769-8500.
What if this happened in another city can I file a report using this online police citizen reporting system?
No, If a crime took place outside of the City of Beaumont please call the police department for that city or county.
What is a known suspect?
A known suspect is when you or someone else knows the person or where to find the person who committed the crime or the license plate number of the vehicle the suspect(s) were in.
What if this happened on a state Freeway?
If this took place on a state Freeway please call the Highway Patrol Office nearest you.
What can I expect after I file a report?
Once your report is filed, a copy of the report will be reviewed by a Watch Commander within 24-48 hours of submission.
The Watch Commander will either approve the report or request additional information from you. You will receive an email notification regarding the status of your report. If the Watch Commander requests additional information, you will file a supplemental report, your report will not be approved until any additional information requested is provided.
Once your report is approved, you will receive an email with information on how to print a copy of your final report for your records. These copies can also be used to file with your insurance company, bank, courts, etc.
