The Records Bureau is open Monday - Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m and Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and closed Weekends and Holidays. To contact the Records Bureau you can dial 951-769-8510.
Live Scan or Ink Hard Card fingerprints are available at the Police Department. Fees vary based on the type of service required. Live scans are done on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. by appointment only.

If a juvenile defendant is involved in an incident, a copy of a report may only be obtained by the petitioning juvenile (or parent or legal guardian).
- Traffic collision records can be released to involved parties, spouse of the involved party, attorney's with photo identification and insurance companies for a fee of $0.35 per page for black and white copies, color copies $0.45 per page.
- Domestic violence cases are only released to the victim with valid photo identification. There is no fee for the victim to obtain a copy of the report.
Traffic Collision Reports
To obtain a copy of a Traffic Collision Report, you must be an involved party, spouse, or an insurance agent for an involved party and provide photo ID. Attorneys must show a signed waiver from the involved party. Please allow 10 working days from the date of the collision to obtain a copy of the report. A $0.35 per page fee for black and white, $0.45 per page fee for color will be applied.
Please note that not all traffic collisions generate a report, for example minor non injury collisions and collisions that occur on private property do not require a written report, you may request a copy of the event record under these circumstances.
Crime reports may be obtained by the victim to the report, an insurance agent if inquiring about a stolen vehicle or property, and an attorney for the victim (with a signed waiver). A photo ID is required to obtain a report and a $0.35 per page fee for black and white, $0.45 per page fee for color will be applied (except for victims of domestic violence or identity theft).

DocView - Traffic Accident Reports Online
The Beaumont Police Department has entered into an agreement with DOCVIEW, LLC to place traffic accident reports on the internet. The DocView Accident Report System was selected to serve as our traffic accident insurance and citizen request technology.
Please visit their website to get a copy of your accident report. If you have any questions, call 866-394-0832 or 541-276-4411, ext. 104. All you need is your date and case number to access the information. Citizens who do not wish to purchase their report online can still come to the police station and pay the normal fee of $0.35 per page black and white or $0.45 per page for color.
Police reports are released to registered owners of involved vehicles, involved person(s) and insurance companies of involved person(s).
Although police reports are considered public records, they are not subject to complete and unrestricted release to the public. The Public Records Act allows for release of some information, but there are many exemptions from release. For example:
- Reports involving juveniles, contact the Records Department for further information.
- Involved parties (primarily victims) are authorized to receive a copy of a report. If the release of information may jeopardize a case, it may not be released with out the authorization of the assigned detective.
The Police Department may redact confidential information prior to a release of a copy of a report. Prior to reporting to the front counter to request a copy of a report, it is recommended you contact the Records Bureau at 951.769.8510 to make sure that the report is available for release.
Visa Clearance Letters / Local Background Check
Visa clearance letters are available for $10. Visa clearance letters can only be requested in person, and cannot be done through mail or by a second party. You must provide photo identification. Only Beaumont records will be searched. To obtain a state clearance letter, or request a copy of your own criminal history which is done through Live Scan fingerprinting, please visit the California Department of Justice website for further details.
Bicycles can be registered for free. Please bring the bicycle to the Police Department so the serial number can be verified. Registration is good for the lifetime of the bicycle.
Stored / Impounded Vehicles:
When a vehicle has been stored or impounded by the Beaumont Police, a release can be obtained for $75.00 (fee set by Penal Code). If needing to obtain a release for DUI, the fee is $150.00 (fee set by Penal Code). Only the registered and/or legal owner may obtain a release. Current registration and a valid driver's license is required at the time of release. If your vehicle was impounded due to the driver being unlicensed or having a suspended / revoked license, the vehicle may be impounded for a 30-day period. A post-storage hearing form may be obtained at the Police Department and subject to department approval before the vehicle can be released. The approval process may take up to 72 hours.
Vehicle releases are done on a 24/7 basis, but please note that when contacting the department after regular business hours for a release, fees must be paid in cash for the exact dollar amount.
Recovered Stolen Vehicle Release
Victims of a stolen vehicle can obtain a release form at the Police Department free of charge. Photo identification is required.
Repossessed Vehicle Releases
Releases for repossessed vehicles can be obtained at the Police Department for a fee of $15. Photo identification is required. A receipt will be provided upon payment. The receipt should be taken to your vehicle’s lien holder for release.
Citation sign-offs can be done on a 24/7 basis. There is a fee of $15.00.

Court Orders (Restraining or Eviction)
The Beaumont Police Department does not serve court orders, except in the case of Domestic Violence Temporary Restraining Orders. Restraining orders are obtained through the Riverside County Superior Court.
Vehicle Identification Number Verification
Vehicle Identification Number or VIN Verification can be done on a 24/7 basis. The fee for a VIN Verification is $15.00, if obtaining a VIN Verification after hours, exact change or a check must be provided for payment.
Recreational Vehicle/Trailer Parking Permit
Recreation and utility trailers may be temporarily parked on a street or alley for any purpose, for a period not to exceed 72 hours pursuant to a permit issued by the Police Department. Each such permit shall be prominently displayed on the vehicle/trailer. The permit fee is $5.00.
All alarm users must obtain an alarm license within ten days of completing the installation of a new alarm system, or within ten days of placing an existing alarm system in service. Alarm licenses may be obtained from the Beaumont Civic Center or the Police Department. The fee for an alarm license is $21.00.
