Recruitment for Public Safety Dispatcher I/II

The Beaumont Police Department is looking to fill the position Public Safety Dispatcher I/II. Under supervision (Public Safety Dispatcher I) or general supervision (Public Safety Dispatcher II), receives and processes routine and emergency calls and alarms; dispatches Police and other public service entities as required; enters, retrieves, and uses data from various automated law enforcement information systems; coordinates with other emergency service providers as appropriate; assists in the training of less experienced personnel; and operates a variety of communication equipment including radio, telephone, and computer systems.

Law Enforcement Exploring is the preeminent career orientation and experience program for young people contemplating a career in law enforcement or a related field in the criminal justice system. Its mission is to offer young adults, from 14 years of age and have completed the eighth grade to not yet 21 years old, a personal awareness of the criminal justice system through training, practical experiences, competition, and other activities.
Police Cadet Recruitment
Under direct supervision of police personnel, performs a variety of routine non-sworn tasks in an apprenticeship program framework. The Cadet Program is designed to introduce recent high school graduates and college students to a law enforcement career and to prepare them for the entry into the police academy.
Become a Citizen Volunteer
Citizen Volunteers are proud representatives of the community. They are highly visible while on patrol. The primary objectives for the volunteers are to prevent crime by mere presence, or identify public hazards. Volunteers also act as the eyes and ears of the Beaumont Police Department by identifying suspicious activities, crimes in progress, or dangerous circumstances. The volunteers do not take action themselves, but notify the proper authorities for handling.
