Beaumont, CA – On Thursday, October 18, 2018, Detectives from the Beaumont Police Department were informed by a local hospital that the victim in the attempted murder from October 15, 2018, had succumbed to his injuries, thus changing the charges from an attempted murder to murder. The victim is identified as Trejean Malik Williams Cullors, age 22, of Beaumont.

On Wednesday, October 17, 2018, the Beaumont Police Department identified and arrested Alyais Lavante Jahneal Harper, age 20 of Beaumont for attempted murder. Harper was taken into custody by members of the Riverside County Gang Impact Team (GIT) in Oceanside, CA, and booked into Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside, for attempted murder and felony discharge of a firearm. However, Harper’s charge has been amended to murder.

Original Press Release from October 15, 2018

Beaumont, CA – On Monday, October 15, 2018, at approximately 12:56 a.m., the Beaumont Police Department received a 911 call regarding a subject who had been reported to be shot and was lying in the street in the area of 5th Street and Beaumont Avenue.

Officers arrived at the scene and located a male victim lying in the street suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Officers began administering life-saving medical aid to the victim. The victim was transported by ambulance to an area hospital and is currently listed in grave condition.

During the initial investigation by officers, witnesses were located at the scene, who reported hearing gun shots and observed a vehicle leaving the area at a high rate of speed.
