Mayor Julio Martinez III

Biography

Mayor Martinez along with his wife and two sons have lived in Beaumont since 2000. Mayor Martinez attended California State University, San Bernardino where he received a Bachelors of Science Degree in Biology, a Masters of Arts Degree in Education and a Clear-Secondary Teaching Credential in Life Sciences. He also received a Pharmacy Technician Certificate from United Health Careers Institute.

Mayor Martinez was an assistant retail manager before becoming a teacher in 1998. He is currently a science teacher at Beaumont High School. Before being elected to the City Council, he was appointed to the position of City Clerk. 

"I saw an opportunity to give back to the community by being directly involved in city government. I felt that my integrity and character could help build trust between the residents and its government."

Martinez has served on the City’s Economic Development Committee, General Plan Committee, Memorial Committee, and Safety Committee. He has also served on several regional committees including the Western Riverside Regional Conservation Authority (RCA), League of California Cities (LOCC), and Southern California Authority of Governments (SCAG).
