Beaumont, CA - On Monday, April 4, 2022, the Beaumont Police Department received information that a gun shot victim was in the emergency room of a local hospital. The victim reported to hospital staff he had been shot by a subject in the area of Highland Springs and 1St Street. Detectives responded to the hospital and began their investigation. The initial investigation indicated the victim had been in the area of 1500 Leland Avenue delivering items to a residence. The victim left the area after being confronted by the homeowner. The homeowner followed the subject and shot the victim through the door of the victim’s vehicle. He drove himself to the hospital where the incident was reported. At this time it is unknown what the relationship is between the homeowner and the victim, but the homeowner, a 46 year old male from Beaumont, was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and shooting into an occupied vehicle.
