Street Sweeping Service

The city’s street sweeping program removes dirt and debris from city streets to provide a healthy, safe, and attractive environment for the citizens of Beaumont. Public health also benefits by the elimination of accumulated debris, which can harbor insects and rodents.

Residents can help in the fight against water pollution. Please dispose of all yard waste in the green waste or other approved containers and avoid over watering of your landscape. Over watering washes pollutants, including fertilizers and pesticides into the streets and storm drains. The deliberate washing, sweeping, or blowing of any type of debris into the street is against the law.

About Street Sweeping

Street Sweepers remove debris from our streets and prevent it from entering our storm drains. Street Sweeping also helps the City comply with state and federal stormwater quality requirements.

The street sweepers are not designed to pick up large pieces, piles or wet debris. Here’s how you can help improve the cleanliness of your street:

  • On street sweeping days remove parked vehicles, trailers, etc. from the street
  • Avoid piling leaves or other debris in to the street or gutter
  • On rainy days street sweeping may or may not occur. If the streets are too wet the sweeper cannot remove debris.

Street Sweeping Schedule

The city’s objective is to sweep arterial, collectors, bike lanes, and residential streets monthly. Sweepers also respond to special requests for immediate pick up of debris creating traffic problems, such as broken glass. To ensure that your street is regularly swept please be sure that the street in front of your home is free of any vehicles and other obstacles by 6:00 a.m. Trees that are too low or vegetation that is overgrown may also prevent a street sweeper from properly cleaning your street and should be trimmed, if privately owned.
