[ARCHIVED] Community Development Grant Funding Opportunity

The City of Beaumont is now accepting applications for the 2025-2026 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) cycle. This federal funding program, provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), aims to support community development projects that benefit low- and moderate-income residents.

Who can Apply?

  1. City Departments or Agencies
  2. Non-Profit organizations subject to 26 U.S.C. 501 (c)(3) of the tax code
  3. Governmental agencies including the County, other Cities, Special Districts, and Tribes

What Types of Activities are Eligible?

  1. Serve individuals or communities within the City of Beaumont
  2. Be an eligible activity under CDBG regulations (24 CFR Part 570.201)
  3. Meet a National Objective of the CDBG program (24 CFR Part 570.208)

How to Apply: 

  1. Download the Application
  2. Submit Your Application: Completed applications must be submitted no later than 5:00 PM (PST) on Friday, October 31, 2024. Applications may be dropped off at City Hall, attention to Joseph Cale or Carole Kendrick or emailed to econdev@beaumontca.gov. Only applications from 501(c)(3) organizations and government entities will be considered. 
  3. Get Assistance: If you need help or have questions about the application process, contact Carole Kendrick at CKendrick@beaumontca.gov.

CDBG applications will only be accepted from 501 (c)(3) non-profit organizations or government entities.  Funding priorities by the City of Beaumont were established by the City Council through the Citizen Participation and Community Needs Assessment for the 2019-2024 and 2024-2029 Consolidated Plan. 

The Beaumont City Council will conduct a public hearing on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at 550 E. 6th Street, Beaumont, California 92223, to receive testimony and comments from all interested persons for approval of use of Fiscal Year 2025-2026 CDBG Funds, a consideration by the City Council to review all CDBG applications submitted from eligible organizations and City projects for the use of CDBG funds within the City.

The documentation for CDBG applications can be reviewed at the Beaumont Civic Center, 550 East Sixth Street, Beaumont, California. For public hearings items, the public may present testimony to City Council either in person or by mail. Written comments will be accepted until the night of the hearing.

The City of Beaumont has set funding priorities based on community input gathered during the Citizen Participation and Community Needs Assessment. These priorities will guide the allocation of CDBG funds for 2025-2026.
