[ARCHIVED] Arrest Made for Making Criminal Threats and Misuse of 911 Emergency Service

On Tuesday, May 7, 2024, the City of Beaumont Police Department Crime Suppression Unit (CSU) arrested 44-year-old Robert Devocht for the misuse of 911 and making criminal threats. 

Over several months, Devocht made harassing and threatening phone calls to the Beaumont Police Department and other agencies. The CSU served a search warrant at the home of Devocht located at the 34000 block of Venturi Avenue. Devocht was taken into custody without incident and is being held at the Smith Correctional Facility on charges of making criminal threats and the misuse of 911. 

Misusing emergency services, like 911, can have serious consequences such as delaying emergency response and tying up valuable life-saving resources.
