The Chief and his management staff coordinate the activities of all divisions within the Police Department. His office is responsible for providing:
- Overall leadership
- Staff assistance
- Management for the department
It is also responsible for maintaining relationships with other city departments and citizens, as well as various community and civic groups for the mutual goal of public safety.
