Commercial Truck Parking


  • In Commercial Zones:  The parking or storage of any commercial vehicle—including, but not limited to, truck tractors, motor trucks, semi-trailers, or any combination thereof—is prohibited on properties not zoned for such use, or where the vehicles are not an ancillary component of a permitted business.   • In Residential Zones:  Pursuant to Section 10.12.030 of the Beaumont Municipal Code (BMC), it is unlawful for any person to park, leave standing, or allow to be parked or left standing, any commercial vehicle—including but not limited to a truck tractor, motor truck, semi-trailer, or any combination thereof—exceeding a manufacturer’s gross vehicle weight rating of 10,000 pounds, upon any street, highway, alley, public right-of-way, or residential property within the City for a period exceeding two hours, unless the vehicle is located on a designated truck route or actively engaged in the delivery of goods or services.   Additionally, pursuant to Section 17.05.030 of the BMC, the parking of commercial vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating of 6,000 pounds or more is expressly prohibited in all residential zones (R-SF and R-MF), whether on-street or off-street.

Landscaping


  • Front Yard Landscaping:  The Beaumont Municipal Code only allows that 50% of your front yard to be covered with an impervious surface. Light Trespass


  • Light Trespass:  "Light trespass" means any artificial light or glare from a light fixture onto a neighboring property that interferes with viewing of the night sky, or eliminates the ability to have darkness on the adjacent property, or shines into neighboring windows, properties or structures.  Because light trespass can can be viewed as a nuisance to your neighbors, the City of Beaumont has created regulations to avoid this situation.  Generally, the violation can be abated with shielding or removal of the lighting.  Please see the complete regulations in our Beaumont Municipal Code section 8.50.060 for complete details.

Parking Lot Maintenance


  • Maintenance of Parking Lot:  The Beaumont Municipal Code requires that all parking, loading zones, curbs, directional markings, disabled accessibility symbols, landscaping, pavement, signs, striping and wheel stops, etc shall be permanently maintained by the property owner in good repair, free of litter and debris, potholes, obstructions and stored materials.  Please see our Beaumont Municipal Code section 17.05.030 for the code requirements or for additional information contact the Planning Department at (951) 769-8518

RV's

  • Storage on Vacant Lot:  Pursuant to Section 10.10.040 of the Beaumont Municipal Code (BMC), a recreational vehicle shall only be stored on property owned by the owner of the recreational vehicle or on property where the registered owner resides.
